Sechu Zubza FC Crushes 27 United FC 8-2 in High-Scoring Clash

On February 15, 2025, Sechu Zubza FC delivered an impressive performance, defeating 27 United FC 8-2 at the IG Stadium in Kohima. The match was a high-scoring affair, with Sechu Zubza FC capitalizing on defensive lapses and counterattacking opportunities to secure a convincing victory. R. Mero was the standout player, scoring a hat-trick.

In the first half, R. Mero put Sechu Zubza FC ahead in the 2nd minute, capitalizing on a defensive mistake. He doubled the lead in the 17th minute with a brilliant cutback finish. An own goal by Namsibo in the 29th minute extended the lead to 3-0. 27 United FC struggled to maintain possession, and their goalkeeper's poor performance added to their woes.

The second half started with Pursunep scoring in the 49th minute. 27 United FC responded in the 54th minute with a brilliant free-kick by Jangjagin Kuki. However, Sechu Zubza FC continued their dominance, with Pursunep adding his second goal in the 74th minute. Jangjagin Kuki scored a powerful header off a Tuboi cross in the 75th minute, making it 5-2. The final 15 minutes saw Sechu Zubza dismantle 27 United FC’s defense with relentless attacks. Sangti scored in the 77th minute, pynbhalang made it 7-2 in the 85th minute, and R. Mero completed his hat trick in the 88th minute to seal an empathic 8-2 victory.

Tactically, Sechu Zubza FC took advantage of counterattacks to exploit 27 United FC’s defensive vulnerabilities. They maintained a solid midfield structure, winning most duels and second balls, and were ruthless in front of goal. In contrast, 27 United FC struggled with defensive errors and poor goalkeeper performance. They slightly improved in the second half but left too much space at the back and failed to convert meaningful chances.

Rhitso Mero was awarded the Player of the Match for his hat trick (2’, 17’, 88’), leading his team to a massive win.

This emphatic victory pushes Sechu Zubza FC further up the table, while 27 United FC must regroup quickly after another tough loss. Their defensive struggles and poor finishing continue to haunt them, and they’ll need to make significant improvements to turn their season around.
